Dylan's First Haircut

7/23/14

A few weeks ago we decided it was time for Dylan to have a professional hair cut. I have been cutting it a little bit myself, but it was getting a little long and needed to be cut. I made an appointment at the kids hair place. When we got there Greg said he was not going to watch because he thought that Dylan was going to scream the whole time, and he hates to see him cry. I was a little nervous, but it turned out much better then we thought. He cried just a little but for the most part he did a great job! We were very proud of him and he looked like such a handsome little boy!

24 Weeks::Baby Lopez #2

Well time is flying with baby #2. This pregnancy is a little different then it was with Dylan. I think because this time around I have no time to really think about it. Between work, Dylan and his therapy and life in general she will be here before we know it! I have still been feeling pretty good. Going on walks, working out and eating pretty good. I have my days where I get tired, but for the most part this has been a pretty good pregnancy!

We Love Straws

7/10/14

We have a saying in our home-"Dylan will do things on his own time" We guide him, support him and praise him everyday to achieve those goals and milestones. We will never push him or make him do anything he does not want to do! Today Dylan decided to drink from a straw, a goal we have been working on for quite some time and he did it all by himself! We still have work to do, but the fact he is drinking and interested is a great thing! This a big thing for children with Down syndrome as it helps with there oral motor skills and speech. Today we are very proud of our Dylan and how hard he works everyday at home and in therapy. His determination and loving heart pushes me to be a better person each and everyday!

7/8/14

Today is a bitter sweet day for our family! It is our beautiful nanny's last day with our little Dylan. Brittany you have been a part of our family for the last 2 years and will continue to be a part of our family. We will miss you so much… I can't even tell you, but I am so excited for you and Jimmy to begin a new journey in life and to be welcoming a new beautiful baby girl in December! I am so thankful for your sweet heart and your caring love for Dylan. You have been there through everything with us, good and bad and I could of not of asked for a more loving nanny to care for our baby boy! Dylan will miss you so much! Don't worry though, we will be face timing you all the time just so Dylan can see and talk to his Nanny B. God has many great plans for you guys and this is only the beginning of a wonderful life ahead of you. To new memories and building your family. We love you!

Dylan's Birthday Party

This year I decided to make my life easier and plan a much smaller birthday party for Dylan, with just friends and family. I think I learned my lesson last year for his 1st. It was an amazing day and we celebrated him and loved it, but in the end it was just way too much work!

I booked a room at one of our favorite local pizza places and it was so much fun! There was only about 25 of us, but it was perfect! I made cupcakes and got balloons and he loved it. I was so excited this year as he actually enjoyed us singing happy birthday to him. He loved it so much he kept telling us he wanted more. It was a very nice day spent with our family and it was the easiest clean up ever! We may be doing more like these in the future.

Sea World

A couple of weekends ago we took Dylan to Sea World for the first time. Our very close friends and there 2 little girls joined us for the day. I was not sure how Dylan would do as he is probably still a little too little, but he loved seeing all of the fish and he enjoyed the shamu show. We ended up getting the seaon pass since they were having a special on it. I can't wait to take Dylan back now that we can go anytime we want too. We had a blast!

We could not leave with out getting a Shamu

2 Years Old

Where does the time go? I ask myself that everyday. I cannot believe my baby boy is 2 years old. I feel like it was yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital and we are about to do it all over again with baby #2.

Dylan has been growing like a weed. He gets cuter and cuter everyday! His smile and laughs just light a room up where ever we are. Dylan loves milk morning and night. He prefers it in a very specific sippy cup and that is OK. He is a very picky eater and wants nothing to do with vegetables. He loves yogurt so much he could eat it all day long. I try everyday to get him to try more fruits and veggies, but he refuses. The good thing is we still have time:) He sleeps from 7:30 at night till about 6:00am in the morning. He loves his baths, but hates being washed. He is not quite walking yet, but we are praying lots that those little legs get stronger everyday. He is learning lots of words, but as of right now he knows "Dada" very well and likes to make lots of animal sounds. He has a very stubborn personality and I can thank my husband for that one....He adores music and wants to listen to it all day long. He signs a lot and that is awesome for communication. He tickles everyone he sees and thinks its the funniest thing around. We have just started taking him to the pool in a little floaty and he absolutely loves it. I see our summer being spent at the pool. He is not into cuddling much and it makes me very sad. If we get lucky and he is just so beyond tired he will rock with Greg or I and fall asleep, and when that happens I don't want to put him down. My little boy is growing up right before my eyes and it makes me sad. I cherish every moment that I can and soak all of it in. He is our little love and he makes our world go round!
