One Sick Baby

2/12/14

Well it's almost been 2 weeks that Dylan has been feeling better. A couple of weeks ago on Monday morning Dylan woke up with a fever. His top molars have been braking through so I figured that is why he had the fever. We gave him some Motrin to help bring it down and break the fever. He did a little better that afternoon and was the same through Tuesday! On Wednesday morning he woke up with a horrible cough, so I called the doctor's and brought him in so they could just look at him and make sure it was nothing different. Our doctor said.. "it was probably just the saliva from all his teething." Poor buddy was still miserable that day and into Thursday. After Greg got home from work on Thursday evening Dylan started to weez a little bit ( almost trying to catch his breath) of course I panicked a little and called the after hour doctor. I don't mess around with Dylan's breathing-especially with him having open heart surgery. The last thing we need is for him to get an ammonia. We took him in right away and they examined him. He had gotten a virus and put him on antibiotics right away! They had told us to give him a dose when we got home. Mind you Dylan had not eaten since 5:30 and it was 11:30 by time we got home. Poor little buddy was exhausted! That night he finally fell asleep, but woke up a little while later and I brought him into our bed to sleep with me.

The next few days were a little better and finally by Sunday he was a totally different baby! I can honestly tell you this was one of the hardest week's for Greg and I. Seeing your little baby not feeling good is so hard. I think this age is the hardest because they cannot fend for themselves and all they want to do is be held. I think I took maybe 3 showers the whole week ( insert laugh) yes...this is what you do when your little one's are sick! I am so glad we got through it and I am sure this is not the last!

This is what my whole week looked like!

And a week later-we had one happy baby!

Afternoon Walk Gone Bad

A few weeks back I was taking Dylan around the block for a walk in his little push car. For some reason when we turn on this corner there is this bush that he likes to brush his hands up against-(must be the texture) so I went to get him a little closer and got him a little too close and it must have scratched his forehead. The funny thing is he did not even cry and I did not even notice it till we got home. When I went to get him out of the little care his head was bleeding! This was Dylan's first little boo-boo. I felt so bad, but I am glad it did not hurt him. I don't think anything will phase this kid after being through open heart surgery.
