Happy 2nd Birthday Dylan

6/26/14

Happy Birthday to the happiest most loving little boy I know! You have stolen our hearts with your blue eyes and your beautiful smile. Thank you for changing us, for opening our hearts to learn more about the world and the beauty that's out there. Thank you for teaching us to love, truly love not only you but every blessed thing we have been given. Thank you for challenging us to accept fears and hardships and to use them to make us better. Thank you for letting your Dad and I be your parents and love you with all our heart. We know there will be challenges, but we also know you'll always be by our side and hold our hand every step of the way, and that in itself makes any pain seem to fade. Thank you for setting use straight. Thank you for strangling out the unimportant, the silly things in life that so often distract us from what really matters! We hope you have the best birthday ever! You truly are an angel from above...we love you so much! HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY BABY BOY!

School Is Out For Summer

6/18/14

As most of you know Dylan started a school program about 8 months ago through the school district. It is one day a week and it is geared for children with all types of special needs. During the 2 hours they work on singing songs while learning to sign to each song. We play with our other friends, have snack time and learn how to do art. The last 30 minutes is either PE or more play time in the class room. Once a month they have a swim day where the kids get to go in the pool ( heated) with the mommies and use there little muscles and work on strength. I am so thankful for this program and his teachers as Dylan has learned so much!

Yesterday they had an end of the year picnic with all the families and kids. We went to the park by our house where they had snacks and lots of stuff to play with. I made cupcakes for Dylan's birthday that is next week and everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to him-he was so cute! I put Dylan in the sand box for the first time and of course he put it all in his mouth. I guess he is exploring....

I was very sad to say good by for the summer, but September will be here before we know it!

Father's Day

" Happy Father's Day to my soul mate and best friend! Thank you for being such an amazing daddy to our little Dilly and our growing beautiful baby girl! I am so very lucky and proud that our babies get to call you dad. God has blessed our entire family with an amazing man that works so hard to ensure our family has a wonderful life. We love you more then anything!"

This Father's Day we had such a special day celebrating  Greg, my dad and my brother-in-law. We all got together at my step mom's and dad's for a BBQ and a fun day in the pool with the kids! Love celebrating the special men in my life that have taught me so much and make me the person I am today!

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

6/11/14

Their is just something about this video that just melts my heart. Seeing these two together always makes my day. The bond they have is something that can never be broken and for that I am so happy! Dylan is very into signing and listening to music right now and one of his favorite songs is " The Itsy Bitsy Spider"! He could sing it over and over again.

18::Weeks Baby Lopez #2

6/10/14

Nothing new since the last post besides this growing belly is getting bigger every week. I have been obsessed with chips and guacamole and golden spoon. Those have been my go-to cravings for this pregnancy. I honestly cannot tell you what I really craved with Dylan and at the much I don't think I really had too many cravings. It must be a "girl" thing! We are getting very excited to grow our family and we cannot wait to meet this beautiful little girl of ours...

This picture is from our hike last weekend and yes I can still do the 4 miles! Pretty proud of myself, but ask me again in another couple of months.

Celebrating Differance's

6/4/14

This boy just makes my day everyday of the week! Having a child with Down Syndrome softens my heart, and allows me to accept people as they are, regardless of their abilities. Raising a child with Down syndrome is wonderful and amazing. It makes you realize that a mothers love is not based on a child's ability, but on your own ability to accept and give. Having a child with special needs can somet...imes be hard, but sometimes it's not. And after you realize this, then you realize this is true for all children. You realize that children with special needs are not beings that walk around suffering from illness, but special people that learn and do things differently, just like all of us. I love celebrating differences!
