2016 and Beyond

1/17/17

Well I guess I did not realize how far behind I was in my post. Between the Christmas festivities, holiday break and pretty much our entire house being sick....I have had no time to myself. Times like this really make me appreciate when I get some "ME" time and a little alone time with my hubby. Every week I try and catch up and then someone gets sick and it sets me back with the usual house stuff. But this week I think we are on the mend and hopefully can get back to a regular daily routine.

Christmas was so much fun this year. I tried to pick a few things through the month of December to take the kids and enjoy all the fun Christmas activities. Christmas has always been my favorite time of year, and I want my kids to have the same experience and grow up just as I did. There is just something about that month. Celebrating Jesus, spending time with family, school activities, presents on Christmas morning and all the yummy food that when January comes it has put me over the edge.

So our list for the month of December consisted of:: A trip to the local town Christmas tree where Dylan got to meet Santa with his school and get to sit in a fire truck, We took the kids on a Santa train near our house. The train drops you off and takes you to Santa where you get to meet him and take a picture. We had Greg's annual Christmas party and of course is always amazing, we went and saw the lights at Fashion Island, We went to Crystal Court and rode the little train around the mall and ate at Ruby's with our family. We rented a boat and watched the boat parade with an adults night out (which was amazing)  My best friend and I hosted our Christmas brunch for our AdvoCare team. Friday before Christmas we celebrated Christmas with my sister and her family, and of course enjoyed Christmas Eve with my Dad and step mom, and Christmas morning with our family and Greg's family in the afternoon. We are blessed in so many ways, and 2016 was a year of ups and downs, and many learning curves. We have big goals this year as a family as well as personal. But we are excited for what 2017 has in store..... So here are pictures from our month of December.

Thanksgiving

11/30/16

This year we spent Thanksgiving with Greg's side of the family. His brother Bobby and his wife Izzy bought there first home about 6 months ago and wanted to host for everyone. But we started our morning off with my family and a hike near our house. There was about 10 of us including all the kids who made it to the top of the highest peak. I could not believe it! It turned out to be an amazing day, and there is nothing more then I love and that's spending time with our family! I am so thankful for all of the blessings in our life, and so excited for Christmas....

Wild Safari Park

This Past week we decided to surprise the kids to a visit to the wild animal park! We went the day before Thanksgiving and it was one heck of a day. Surprisingly NO one was there. We felt like we had the whole park to ourselves. It was actually really nice since both the kids are all over the place and just want to run every where. Sitting in a stroller anymore is not there favorite thing ( can you blame them). The weather was perfect, and I love spending time with my sweet family and making memories.

Neither one of us had been to the wild animal park and I can tell you I actually like it better then the zoo. The park is beautiful, the animals our amazing and I absolutely loved the tram ride out into the open where you get up close and personal with the beautiful animals. It was a special day and we can't wait to take them again!

Celebrating US

6 years, two beautiful babies, moved into our first home, changed careers, and whatever life may have brought us! But through it all we celebrated another anniversary and this year we went away for the first time in almost 5 years!!!! WOW! I can't even believe it, but we finally did it. We went away for just a weekend to an amazing hotel and did some awesome wine tasting. We left Friday, and had an amazing dinner that night. Saturday we had a driver scheduled to take us wine tasting (which was amazing) and came back and had a nice dinner. Then woke up Sunday had a peaceful breakfast and came home to our babies.....

It really was so nice to get away with just the two of us. To actually have conversations with no interruptions, to eat a meal without eating in less then 5 minutes because your kids want to be done, and to get some much needed rest. I was so happy to get home and get my snuggles, but I am already looking forward to our next weekend away! And thank you to Grandpa and Cappy for taking care of your grand babies!
