“You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”  

A few weekends ago we headed up to Santa Barbara for our dear friend's Kevin and Sam's wedding. Greg was in the wedding so our weekend was going to be jam packed. We decided to bring my mom along to help with the kids. We stayed in a cute little Inn right by the beach and of course it was big enough to accommodate all 5 of us. Grandma was an awesome help! I had a hard time leaving the kids, so my mom offered to come along (she is the best)....

Friday night we had rehearsal and a beautiful dinner after for the family of the bride and groom and the wedding party. After dinner everyone decided to go to a club/bar for some drinks. It was pretty funny to see as I don't remember the last time I stayed out till 1:30 in the morning. We were in a college town where most people don't even start there night till 10:00pm. At home I am well asleep by that time. How times have changed since having kids, It's nice to do that once in awhile, but I sure as heck cannot keep up like I used to.

Saturday we went over to my cousins house to visit. I have not been to see there house since they moved 3 years ago. There house is just beautiful! They took us to a great Mexican restaurant for lunch. I really do love Santa Barbara. I love the quite-small town feeling and of course we always love the beach. After lunch we went back to the hotel so Greg could head over to get ready for the wedding and pictures with the wedding party. I stayed to get ready and help my mom with the kids before I left. Oh...how I love "Uber" these days. We used it the whole weekend so we did not have to drive anywhere. The wedding was at the beautiful El Encancto. It's simply amazing and at the top of Santa Barbara with views that are simply breath taking. The ceremony was stunning, and in the most perfect spot. It was in a small courtyard over a little pond. They exchanged vows that were just beautiful and Kevin's vows were over the top and made me cry like a baby. They are truly meant for each other and more in love then ever! The night went on with a beautiful reception and lots and lots of dancing. I think I sweat my booze off..ha!

It was a weekend to remember and we are so happy for Kevin and Sam. We love them so much! Thank you mom for taking care of our babies and being the best grandma ever!

Enjoying: Weekends

The past two weekends have been very busy with lots of fun things to do, and lots of errands to do, but they have been very hot weekends. I must say I do enjoy the heat, but it has been so hot and humid that I have not been in a pleasant mood:) I told my husband I am not sure how I would even survive in Florida, Texas or any sorts of hot and humid weather all the time. We live pretty close to the beach and we normally get a good breeze where we don't need our air, but the past two weeks I think we have ran it everyday and I am not looking forward to that bill!

Labor day weekend we headed out to the desert (which we love) to go and get a little mini vacation in. We stay at a friends house and enjoy the pool, BBQ and just relax. It takes you away from your day to day chores and forces you to rest and enjoy a few cocktails. We left Friday morning and came back Monday morning to beat the traffic. This is our second year going out there for a fun labor day weekend. We went with some dear friends and my mom. We always love Grandma to come as she is a big help with the kids.

This past weekend we celebrated one of our very dear friends daughter "Morgan's" 4th birthday party! They had it at the cutest little animal fun farm near our house. They have pony rides, train rides, petting zoo and a fun play ground. It really is the perfect place to have a birthday party. The kids can run around and be loud. Dylan had the best time and really enjoyed his pony ride. Haylee is still not at the age to do much, but she loved watching her brother and going on the "choo-choo" train with her daddy!

New Beginnings

Since going back to work with Haylee being born and Dylan growing up so fast, it was much harder this time around going back to work when Haylee was just 3 months old. Everyday I felt I was missing something new they did, or missing my snuggle times with them and missing out on all those fun mommy things we get to do (well sometimes), if that's what you call "fun" (insert laugh)...

About two months ago Greg and I sat down and decided that the best thing we could do as a family is me being home with the kids. We have talked about it often, but we just really did not know when the best time would be. What brought us to our final decision was Dylan starting school and some new therapy programs that Dylan will be starting. I told him, I did not want to miss out on any of it. I can tell you I have prayed for this day since Dylan was born, but financially we could not take the burden of living off of one income. But we knew in time that we could make it work and honestly if you put your mind to it, you can make anything work. 

Monday August, 31st was my last day at my job that I had been at for 5 years. It was a sad but happy day. I will tell you one thing...I will not miss the corporate world one bit, but I will miss the people that I worked with for the last 5 years and all the friendships I made. I will 100% be keeping in contact with all of the wonderful people. As for me, I am over the moon and so happy to get to be home with my babies and enjoy my new job as a full time mommy. The last few days have been pretty crazy, and I totally forgot how hard being a stay at home mom is. I told my husband on our date night on Monday that I will never take for granted being home with my babies. It truly is a prayer answered and these moments I will never-ever forget. My little loves will be 18 in a blink of an eye.

Preschool and Beyond...

The day has finally come, the day that I have envisioned since Dylan was just a tiny little baby. I have had countless nights of dreaming what this day would be like and how I would feel? Would I be sad, happy, nervous, scared...well it was all of it. As parents we want whats best for our kids, we want them to embrace life, meet friends, learn and grow all on there own, but deep down inside we want to shelter them forever.

Ever since finding out Dylan had DS we knew we would have our challenges, but their was no stopping this mama to ensure a full and happy life for are little man. In life we can either enjoy every waking minute or salk in our sorrows over everything that could of, would of and should of. Let me tell you right now, that's not the way this world works. God gives us this one life and he has a road map for every single one of us. That map might not always pull you in the right direction, but it sure as heck always ends up on the road that you are supposed to be on, and that road my friends is the greatest journey of all.

Dylan is our little angel from above and I will shout to the mountain tops how truly amazing this little boy is! He is loving, smart and most of all the happiest little boy in the world. He can give some serious hugs and laugh up a storm, he says "hi" to everyone that he sees and everything is "wow". This kid is the most joyful human being and I get to be his mom forever!

Now the last few months have been some stress full ones. Trying to figure school and therapy schedules and what is best and not best for Dylan has been draining and very tired some. But we got it all figured out and this year is going to be an awesome one! I am so happy for him to go to school everyday and learn and grow to be the little man god has created him to be. A couple of days ago I was beginning to be more of a nervous wreck with school starting, but once I found out who Dylan's teacher was going to be my heart was full of happy tears. Dylan's teacher is Mrs. Labbe. She happens to be one of my dearest friends since Junior High and I am over the moon that this beautiful and amazing human being will be Dylan's teacher. Things truly happen just the way they need to!

Family Vacation-San Luis Obispo 2015

This past week we headed out to Avila Beach/San Luis Obispo for a family vacation to celebrate my step mom's 60th birthday. They rented this amazing house that was nestled in the hills of San Luis with an amazing view of the country. It had 7 bedrooms, a guest house and a studio over the garage. The back yard had a pool, play area for the kids lots and lots of activities. The house we stayed in, is the house of a family that my step sister used to nanny for while in college. They no longer live in the house as it is just a rental, but this was the best scenario for a family of 25 people going....

There is not much to report about our trip because the pictures will tell it all, but it truly was one of the best family trips I have been on. I love spending time with my family as their is nothing better then family. We went on bike rides to the beach, played in the pool, ate, drank and played lots of games, sat out by the fire, roasted marshmellows, played on the swings, explored the grounds and just relaxed.Dylan even got to sit on a fire truck on our way back from a run. We went to the apple farm that was down the street. They have the best darn ice cream ever. Saturday night my dad and step mom rented a food truck to come to the house to serve dinner. After dinner we had Karokee and it was so much fun! Dylan was right in the middle of all of it.. Thank you to my Dad and Cathy for an amazing trip and we cannot wait to do it again!

Haylee Lynn:: 9 & 10 Months

Well as you can see I have been lagging on my post lately. It has been a very busy summer with work, vacations, therapy for Dylan and just life in general!

Haylee turned 9 months this month and is about to be 10 months on the 3rd of September. I thought I would combine these last few months into one post. Haylee is growing like a weed and it is making me sad everyday. I can't believe my little girl will be 1 years old in about 2 months. Where does the time go? Haylee is one of the sweetest little girls ever, but man she can be a pistol...She loves her brother so much and gets so excited whenever he wakes up in the morning and from naps. She is the early riser these days as Dylan is starting to sleep in (thank the lord) Haylee is now on about 11-12 hours of sleep a night which is awesome! This last week we have dropped her 3rd nap and onto 2 naps a day. I think this has helped her sleep a little better at night as she is super tired by time bed time comes around. She is pulling up on everything and getting into everything. She is starting to say words like.."ball", "mama", "dada" and babbles up a storm. She loves most all foods, as avocado is her #1 choice. She could eat a whole one. We are working on big girl foods and she is loving most of it so far. I am hoping to just give her everything as I don't think I can handle another picky eater in the house(Greg & Dylan)! Haylee loves when people chase her around the house, it is the cutest thing ever-especially when her brother runs after her. She loves to drink out of her sippy cup, but still prefers us to feed her, her bottle. This mama cannot wait till those bottle are done! She is obsessed with her "dog-dog" it's a cute little stuffed animal dog that we happened to get at ikea. I have not let her sleep with it yet, but when she is up or we go anywhere that dog comes along.

Haylee Lynn, you are the sweetest little girl in the world. Mommy, Daddy and Dylan love you so much! You are truly a blessing to this family as well to your brother. The love you two have for each other is something so special. I cannot wait to watch you two grow up together. Your heart and smiles is what completes are family....
